Squirtable Chalk

Squirt bottles

Corn starch

Food Coloring or Washable Colors


Instructions: Create a mixture of corn starch and vinegar and fill squirt bottle 2/3 of the way. Add some of the coloring and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Stir the mixture and shake before use!

Pro tip: Be sure to wear clothes that you can get messy in. Depending on the type of coloring you choose, staining may occur.

Squirt Gun Painting

Load up those squirt guns and let the fun begin!

Materials Needed:

Squirt guns

Liquid water color

Water color paper


Pro tip: Again, you will want to wear clothes you are okay getting messy in. Once completed, lay artwork flat to dry.

Water Balloon Fight

No explanation needed! Simple outdoor activity that will keep your kids busy for hours.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Create a list of items to find around the house or yard (green items, things that start with the letter “b” etc). Whoever finds the most, wins!

 Materials Needed: Camera of your choice!

Homemade Ice cream

This yummy recipe found on The Stay At Home Chef takes only 5 minutes!


1 cup heavy cream

1 cup half and half

½ cup of sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 gallon sized Ziploc bags

2 cups ice cubes

½ cup of salt

Instructions: Pour cream, half and half, sugar, and vanilla extract into a gallon sized resealable plastic bag. Seal well. Squish it around to combine until sugar is dissolved.

Place ice cubes and salt into another gallon sized resealable plastic bag.

Place the bag with the ice cream mixture into the bag with the ice. Seal the larger bag.

Shake until mixture freezes, about 5 to 7 minutes.

Pro tip: You can use either table salt or ice cream salt for this recipe, although ice cream salt is recommended.

Berry Picking

Spend the day picking fresh berries then head home to bake a delicious pie! There are several berry picking farms in the Richmond area depending on the type of berry you prefer.

All tube trips depart on the half hour between 10:00AM and 2:00PM (hourly on weekdays).
